Since 2008, Rachel Freeman has served as paper conservator at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she is mainly involved with the conservation and preservation of paintings, prints, and calligraphy in the Asian art collection. Prior to 2008, Rachel was an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Balboa Art Conservation Center in San Diego, California. She also interned at the Museums of New Mexico and Heugh-Edmondson Conservation Services in Kansas City, Missouri.
Rachel earned an MA and a Certificate of Advanced Study in art conservation from the State University of New York, University at Buffalo, and holds a BA in Asian Studies from Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg, VA.
Rachel joined the AIC-BPG Wiki team in 2012.
