Appropriate collections management and collections care practices must be used throughout all exhibit phases.[edit | edit source]
Collections are often moved and handled frequently during the exhibit process. This heightens the risk of damage from accidents, soiling, and exposure to such hazards as physical stress, pests, inappropriate humidity levels, and photographic lights. The exhibit team should institute safe care practices and detailed record keeping to avoid losses and minimize harm to exhibit collections.
